This is a painting by Natalia Goncharova.
I love the colors in this painting, it was the first thing that caught my eye. This piece is very abstract and kinda reminds me of cubism, something like Picasso would paint. I couldn't find the name to this painting but I would call it Garden of Wonder. The shading and tones of the colors give life to this piece. There is so much going on in this painting and yet it is very easy and claiming to look at. The division in this painting seems to be dark at the top and brighter at the bottom. So to me it shows the dark side and the happier side of life. Showing how there is negative things in this world but there is a whole lot of good too.

I like how you took so much from a jumbled mess of flowers and shapes. I personally find this painting uninspiring and hard to look at. There is no composition and the colors seem to be chosen at random and with no conscious thought. I think the artist was trying to paint something amazing, and I'm sure at one paint they did, but this piece here was their very first attempt.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you Leslie, I guess I always have to find the good in things! lol But I just love the colors and way the artist did the composition. I can't help love weird things! :)
ReplyDeleteIt has interesting energy and color but seems less coherent than some of the other cubist work that we have viewed. I have to agree with Leslie on this one.
